The short version
ChickenCount does not currently use affiliate links. This page sets out the policy we will follow if that changes, so you know where you stand before it does. If we add an affiliate link, clicking it and making a purchase may earn us a small commission. It would cost you nothing extra, the price you pay is the same either way, and it is how we would keep the calculators free.
What this means in practice
If we begin linking to a specific feed brand, coop, or piece of equipment in a guide, that link may be an affiliate link (most likely through the Amazon Associates program). We would only link to products we'd genuinely recommend to someone keeping backyard chickens, and commission potential would never decide what gets recommended.
Advertising
The site carries no advertising at present. If we later display ads through a service such as Google AdSense, they will be separate from any affiliate links and shown by general advertising algorithms rather than by our editorial choices.
Federal Trade Commission compliance
This disclosure is provided in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials, which require that any material connection between a reviewer and a product be clearly disclosed.
